Advise your doctor and your cosmetic nurse if you are taking blood thinners such as aspirin, warfarin etc, taking fish oils, using ibuprofen, recently had minor dental work or have an auto-immune condition.
Prior to your first treatment, we will assess your suitability for dermal fillers and discuss any concerns or address an questions you have. The procedure involves a small amount of the prescribed product administered into the selected areas using fine needle, or in some instances a cannula. You may experience some stinging.
Swelling at the injection site is normal. This is more severe when lips have been injected. With any injections into the skin with dermal filler, lumpiness may occur. Lumps after dermal filler is a common issue and can be normal and temporary, or it may need to be reviewed. It is very common to have temporary lumpiness in the skin in the first few weeks after dermal filler. What usually happens is that it will integrate into the skin by about week 4.
All cosmetic treatments carry out risks. Our cosmetic injector will discuss these risks with you prior the treatment.
Apply ice to help ease swelling and irritation. We recommend applying ice to your lips following your procedure. An ice pack or an ice cube covered in a thin flannel will certainly do the trick.
